This publication explores the psychological studies into phobias and fear. Clinical in design, the first part of this publication typographically expresses the feelings people with these phobias go through when exposed to their phobic stimulus. The second part of the publication is more personal, with true stories from peoples own expiences relating to their phobias.
This project is a response to the International Society of Typographic Designers brief titled ‘Everything about one thing’. The publication’s topic is about pole dancing, and the aim is to encourage people to see pole dancing in a different light, as something more like an art form rather than an sexual thing. It attempts to show movement typographically, representing pole dance without having to show the evocative photographs usually associated with this topic.
A travel guide to the nightlife in Melbourne city. This guide highlights five of the clubs and bars in Melbourne that are not the typical mainstream clubs, but represent more of the unusual scenes of urban life. It is designed as a pocket guide that folds out with a large map to make it easy for people to navigate the city.
Monash University Museum of Art program guide. This design features a simple graphic element that draws visual inspiration from the exposed pipe areas inside the gallery. The pamphlet folds out into an A2 sized poster, with all the gallery important information featured on the back.
Paper Architecture is a project based on a specific architecture project by the Lyons group, called 41X that was entered in the Victorian Architecture Awards. This A2 fold out poster is a graphic representation and interpretation of the 41X building. All the information about the architecture project is on one side and on the other is a featured vector graphic that draws inspiration from the external facade of the building.
Waratah Hills Wine
Using the Waratah Hills winery and their products as inspiration for the design of the wine labels on the bottles. I have created three different labels for the winery. Each has the distinct Waratah Hills identity that is reminicent of the surrounding nature and hill or the area.
Directions for Use
This particular package design is for an energy saving power point plugin. The project required us to take an already existing package and redesign the surface graphics, whilst maintaining all the existing type on the package. By creating an original company logo and pictograms I came up with a typographic redesign that gave the product a new and fresh appearance.
Flower and Garden Show
I created an event poster for the 2013 Flower and Garden Show. By trying to create inventive and unique imagery that represents the contents of the show, I came up with the idea of creating origami flowers and leaves. This creates another layer of information within the surface of the poster, causing you to look deeper when you realise the flowers are made from paper.
